Maddie left on her mission last Wednesday. She will be in the MTC for nine weeks and then it's off to Latvia (Baltic Mission). It was a difficult time for all of us in a way since she has a very serious boyfriend who wanted to marry her (and she him), but she still felt that she was supposed to serve a mission. So she bravely said goodbye to her family and her sweet boy and walked away. Leaving us all bawling on the curb of the MTC. It was heartbreaking, but we are so proud of her. She is so brave. And she will be an amazing missionary. We got our first email from her yesterday and it was so wonderful to hear from her. She's a solo sister since no other girls are going to her mission at the moment and there's only one other person (an elder) in her classes. It's a little lonely for her, but she's learning to rely on the Lord and I'm sure her relationship with Him will be so strong because of this experience. She's the best.

Family photo in Cam's dorm lobby before driving up to the MTC. (Have you ever seen a more awkward stance? By me, I mean. haha, classic.)
On her way
